Itsy-bitsy recovery

1.01 miles
11:32 (11:25/mile)

Started too late, ran into one of my son's teacher people while running by his school, which cost me 10 min of running time. But I was secretly glad to stop and chat, I just felt out of whack in this little run. It was so hard, I felt like it was my first day on my new feet:-(

Gearing up for a cold week. Off next week, YES! Hope to catch up with my fellow RBFers when things slow down this weekend/next week:-)

Mid-Week Recovery

A labored run, it was hot (77!!!), but I'm not stressing, as I'm resting on my 11.5 mile long run laurels:-)

Here is what I did:-)
2.56 miles
32:53 (12:50/mile)

I'm getting excited for the HM. I feel like each run I get out for now will hopefully make each mile of the HM just a little bit easier ((crosses fingers)). Two more long runs to go!

There is a 5K in our town in June...my five year old said he wants to run the race with Mommy. Soooo, on Thursday's track run, we'll see if he can go around the track, say, 8 times, walking as necessary. If he can do it, I'll try to help him do a little more each time (1x/week). And maybe I will do the 5K with my little guy with time as no object. Must look much more into little kids running!!

Short and sweet recovery

2 miles
23:56 (11:58/mile)

That was all the time I could get for the babysitter to stay while I ran. Super duper run, just loved literally every second of it. Beautiful 62 degree day, gave myself permission to run slowly and had I had a little more babysitting coverage, would have gladly gone another mile.

Never thought I'd say THAT!

Snuck in a Daylight Run

Really wanted to get another mile under my belt today to log 40 miles for the month, but alas, it is not meant to be.

2.35 miles
26:30 (11:16/mile)

Had to take advantage of babysitting opportunity. That was all the time I had after school and student club meeting. Not the easiest run, but it was ok. Recovery from my 9 mile triumph this past Saturday:-)

Recovery Run & Tough News

2.65 miles
31:07 (11:44/mile)

I did R10/W1.5 and variations on that theme in this slow run.

Now the tough part. My mom, just found out Friday that she has breast cancer. She was vigilant and found the lump herself (she had been for a routine checkup the month before and nothing was found!). We're optimistic that she will beat it, since it appears she caught it early. But the family is in a little shock. Her surgery is a week from next Monday, the doc will prescribe radiation or chemo after, depending on what she finds. So, please, some blogoshpere prayers for my Mom would be much appreciated, if you are the praying type. I'll be doing Relay for Life for the second year in our town with our school & church, has a whole "close to home" feeling this time around.

Peace.
