Wannabe Will Be Out of the Office...

Off to Disney in the car with dh and kiddos. Running down there, I dunno, but I'll sure walk a lot.

Back on Labor Day when dh & I head to Rutgers season opener!

Good runs, recoveries to all.

Go, RUTGERS!

Went away to Toronto this weekend with the husband and kids to cheer on RUTGERS in their win in the International Bowl against Ball State--and for dh's birthday! It was an 8 hour drive each way from Jersey. Yes, we did this with the 2 year old and the 6 year old, and they did...GREAT! We survived and actually enjoyed it! Got some walking in the frigid cold in (we're too cheap to taxi) and walked about two miles round trip every time we wanted to eat or go see the game. Met up with old Rutgers friends from home and was just a great, whirlwind weekend.

What did my kids get out of it? They now chant "One More Year" since they heard the crowd chanting it at Ray Rice (#27) begging him not to go forego his Sr. year and go pro, which he probably will.

Ran today when I got back, slowly (surprise, surprise), 3 miles, 42 min, felt ok:-)

Am trying to regain my motivation and I joined KickRunner's Virtual Race Across America (VRAA). My team is counting on my measly <15 miles per week. I had to get out there today so as not to disappoint. Looking forward to a competitive angle added to regular runs.

Chili's Margarita Chicken is NOT a good pre-run meal???

With ice cream for dessert??? Who knew??? Should I have planned our family outing to Chili's and my run a little better?? Ya think???

Somehow did this on a full belly, ha!
3.0 miles
39:06 (13:02/mile)

This was a cut back week in my HM training (was glad after schlepping a few miles to & from the car for the Rutgers game--we have to park so darn far away now that people actually GO to the games now, but I'm glad all those folks are excited about the Scarlet Knights!!!). So I'm going for a 10 miler this coming weekend, woo hoo.

HH Intermdiate 5K - Week 7, Day 4

Still sore from lugging our kiddos and all their stuff around the Rutgers Game Thursday night. Geez, we have to park so far away now that the Scarlet Knights are so popular! :-)

Here's this morning:
7 miles
1:31:47 (13:06/mile)
Temp: 59 Humid @ start: 87% ; Humid @ end: 63% (cool how that dropped in the 90 min!)

Tried so hard for neg splits, but clearly I still went too fast in Mile 1. Grrr.

Mile 1 - 12:59
Mile 2 - 13:09
Mile 3 - 13:00 (ok, there's a negative split)
Mile 4 - 13:26
Mile 5 - 13:35
Mile 6 - 13:11 (ok, there's one more)
Mile 7 - 12:24 (and the last mile neg at least)

All in all felt pretty good. Ready to hunker down for Labor Day weekend.
